Clocking in or out
- On your phone, open Clock and allow camera and location access. Tip: use your browser's Add to Home screen so it opens like an app.
- Tap Clock in or Clock out.
- Fit your face inside the oval and hold still. Then follow the prompts: e.g. blink, turn your head or smile. The ring around the oval fills as you go.
- A green screen means you're done. Clocks that miss a check are still recorded and sent to your supervisor to review.
- On a shared kiosk, tap the My phone chip and switch to Shared kiosk, then pick the site. Keys: I in, O out.
How a clock is decided
- Identity: the face must match the enrolled worker with similarity above 0.75.
- Geofence: the phone's GPS position (or the kiosk's site) must be within the site's radius. Phones use the nearest site automatically.
- Liveness: two randomised challenges (blink, smile, turn left/right) tracked on the device, exactly one face, and the same person at the start and end of the check.
Privacy (POPIA)
The camera frame is sent once to the on-premises face service for matching and then discarded. It is never saved to the database or to disk. Only the worker, time, location, match score and decision are recorded.
Face not recognised?
Ask a supervisor to enrol you from the Admin dashboard. Good light and a front-facing photo give the best results.
